Penzance and New York – worlds top holiday destinations
The UK edition of Grazia (International women’s magazine published around the world) has named Penzance in a list of places to visit in 2016. The list also includes Amsterdam, Lima, Sacramento, & Miami.
With some 25 sandy beaches within 16 km of Penzance, Penzance stands at the head of Mounts Bay steeped in a rich and varied history. Mentioned for the first time in 1284, Henry VIII granted Penzance the rights to retain Harbour dues, and later King Charles 1st granted coinage rights to the town allowing tin to be weighed and taxed.
